Maintenance Overview
Published February 28, 2004
Golf courses across the world are unique, not only in their design but they are also different in their topography, soil conditions, resources, local climatology and so on.
With this in mind it is important to know that each golf course is managed differently as well. Our success in providing quality conditions at Lake View starts with a good, well thought out maintenance program. The base for this program is sound agronomic principles coupled with, communication, training and education, "uncommon sense" and the ability to adapt when the need arises. Mother Nature has a way to put a spin on things so adaptation is important. There are no written prescriptions or catch all maintenance programs in this profession so one needs to adapt and recognize the need for a change in the plan.
The articles in the Maintenance section contain general guidelines of some of our maintenance practices. Of course, as the weather, environmental conditions and resources change we will modify these practices accordingly.
