Wild Hookers Tee it up at Lake View

Published April 12, 2004

Renée and Gordon Seliga (next door neighbors to the practice range at Lake View Country Club) claim there are "Wild Hookers" hitting golf balls toward their home.

Although they have never actually seen the so called "Wild Hookers", the Seligas say they must be the culprits. "How else could my garage window have been broken?" asks Mr. Seliga.

He went on to explain how he's heard the golf balls bouncing off of the aluminum siding on their home and how he and his wife have actually had to dodge the flying golf balls while working in the yard.

Mr. Seliga says he has tried to track down the "Wild Hookers" to tell them to aim further to the right but he hasn't had any luck. Mrs. Seliga (mother of two) says she's afraid to go out of the house for the fear of being hit by one the "Hooker's" errant shots.

The couple says; "They don't mind the "Wild Hookers" practicing their golf shots." "After all, they need the practice." The Seligas just wish the "Hookers" would be a little more careful and aim more to the right.

To help deal with the problem, Mr. Seliga says he will be planting some trees in strategic areas around his home. He hopes that in time the trees will stop the errant shots from entering his yard.

Local Golf Pro, Steve Crane, says he has heard of the "Wild Hookers" and has had to help them in the past. He urges anyone with a case of the" Hooks" to call him to make an appointment for lessons. He's sure he can cure them of the "Hooks".
