When Will the Driving Range Tee Open?

Published April 4, 2008

Last fall we renovated and reseeded the top two tiers of the driving range tee. I'm very satisfied with progress of the new seedlings at this point but there is a way to go before the two upper tees will be ready for battle. Since it is a practice tee with a lot of traffic it is best to have thick dense turf with a bit of a thatch mat. The thatch acts as a buffer and helps to reduce premature wear. This is important as the driving range tee is relatively small and can wear out very quickly as a result.

To speed along the grow-in process I will be adding additional fertilizer to accelerate growth. This will help to get the tees open as soon as possible. I'm anticipating on opening the tees around the first week of June. The lower tee will remain open the entire time so members will have the ability to practice as usual.
