PHEW WEE!...with a Big Sigh!
Published July 14, 2006
Wow, what a run! Working just about dawn to dusk and without a day off since April 20th it's been nothing short of GO! GO! GO! One day on the dozer shaping #16 and #17. The next day it's on to pulling irrigation wires for the new tees. Back on the dozer and then onto digging holes and pouring concrete pads for the irrigation controllers. While the concrete is drying, it's back on the dozer and onto prepping and seeding and then back to re-wiring the irrigation system… and so forth. I got so busy I had to bring my son along just to spend a little time with him.

Of course, it's like an adventure for him. Closely paying attention and asking a lot of good questions, I think he learned a lot. At one point I gave him a pair of pliers and a couple pieces of wire to play with. Wouldn't you know it, he was paying attention. A short while later he shows me a "pigtail" he made and a pretty good one at that. For those of you who don't know what a "pigtail" is, it's a term used to describe a way to twist together two or more wires for electrical connections. Anyway, he made a good one.
I know it's been a while since my last update and I hope you all understand. As most of the major projects are close to being finished I should have more time to post entries more frequently. Oh, by the way, there was an article about our web site published in the Golf Course Superintendent's Association's trade publication "Golf Course Management" in July. I'll have more on that soon.
