Ike Remnants Still Pack Punch

Published September 15, 2008

As the remnants of hurricane Ike passed through our area last night, the accompanying winds caused some minor damage throughout the golf course. Strewn with broken tree limbs, branches and even a few trees, the golf course will no doubt take us a few days to clean up. Not to cause alarm, the damage although numerous is mostly limited to small branches, leaf bundles and the like.

"I won't even start a golf course design project without having the superintendent on board to make grass decisions, slope decisions and tree decisions. Designing a golf course as a team effort is fun to do and fun to play."
Jack Nicklaus, Opening Session, 2005 GCSAA Education Conference
