And They're Off!

What a bonus for us so far this year. It's only March 28th and the snow is gone, the grass is already starting to grow and believe it or not, we are mowing and rolling.

The temperatures forcasted for next week look pretty good (50's) and that's good news as this is a great opportunity for us to get a head start in preparation for the 2007 golfing season.

It sure is nice to see green grass again. It's a good feeling as the golf course wintered very well. The greens, tees and fairways are void of snow mold and the rough isn't too bad either. Overall, not too much snow mold other than the really poorly drained and shaded areas in the rough.

"As beautiful as trees are, and as fond as you and I are of them, we still must not lose sight of the fact there is a limited place for them in golf. We must not allow our sentiments to crowd out the real intent of a golf course, that of providing fair playing conditions. If it in any way interferes with a properly played stroke, I think the tree is an unfair hazard and should not be allowed to stand."
Donald Ross, from "Golf Has Never Failed Me"
